Thursday’s game is at 12:10 p.m. against the Detroit Tigers. The Rays will be celebrating Florida Recreation and Parks Association Day at Tropicana Field. There will be thousands of kids in attendance from summer camps around the Tampa Bay area. “It is a real honor for our kids to be chosen as the ‘Baseball Buddies’ for the day,” said Sandy Clayton, Recreation Program Coordinator for the City of Clearwater. The Baseball Buddies program allows youth to get up-close to their favorite Rays players and feel the excitement. And stand next to them, right on the field, when the national anthem is played.
